Privacy policy

gig (sole proprietor Kim Dongjun, "we") runs Clueful. This policy explains what we process, why, for how long, and your rights, in line with Korea's Personal Information Protection Act and the App Store and Google Play rules.

1. What we process and why

Clue text you type in a round, to judge it and move Coco's hunch meter. A random device ID, to limit abuse and keep your leaderboard entries. Leaderboard results (word, practice language, number of words and letters, seconds) and the optional display name you enter in Settings, to show world rankings. Messages you send through the support form and, only if you give it, your email, to answer you. We do not ask for your name, phone number, contacts, location or photos, and we don't need an account.

2. What stays on your device

Round history, XP, streaks, badges, settings and your consent choice are stored only on your device and are deleted when you delete the app.

3. How long we keep it

Clue text: not stored by us after judging. Leaderboard results and display name: until you ask us to delete them or we close the service. Device ID usage counters: 90 days. Support messages: 1 year, then deleted.

4. Processors and transfer outside Korea

To run the service we use: TypeSafe AI, Inc. (United States) to judge clues with the Jev model; data sent: clue text and the candidate words, per round, over an encrypted connection; TypeSafe states it does not train models on this input and keeps it only as long as needed to provide the service. Cloudflare, Inc. (United States, global network) hosts our server and database; data: everything in section 1. Apple and Google process in-app purchases under their own policies; we receive no card details. We ask for your explicit permission before your first judged round, and you can refuse by not playing judged rounds.

5. Deletion

Send a deletion request through the support page with your display name. We delete your leaderboard entries without delay and confirm by reply if you left an email.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or stop the processing of your information at any time through the support page. We answer within 10 days.

7. Security

Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic, access limited to the operator, and no clue text stored with your identity.

8. Children

Clueful is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
